sigh...why?

Okay, it is confirmed. I am definitely a noise-sensitive person, but not just any noise --- only repetitive noise. Repetitive noises throw me over the top. Continual seed spitting, pen tapping, systematic gum-popping/chewing...oh my goodness! To tune out the external noises, I blare my headset. There are times the noises are so distracting that I find it hard to concentrate. I get upset with myself that these petty noises aggravate me so much. But, outside of going deaf, replicating the noises, or leaving the area temporarily, I don't know what else to do.

I am blaming it on tight quarters and an anxious existence, since being in Iraq. Who knows?! But, good grief...

The
Society of Auditory Intervention has some ideas. Guess I should purchase some magnesium supplements.

There are certain advantages to being functional deaf in one ear. Don't know how the hearing advantaged cn stand all the noise.
